My Angel Paintings

I call this series of still lifes “True Colors of Angels”,
combining the mythology of angels and mirror reflections. Angels generally represent spiritual protection and guidance, as in "guardian angel." The spiritual principle of reflection states that natural and spiritual phenomena are reflections of each another. Outward reality is a reflection of inward reality. The Japanese crane of good luck is found among the images and birds are used to symbolize freedom. The hummingbird is a metaphor for accomplishing things that are said to be impossible. Due to the fascinating transitions it goes through in its life, the frog's dual time spent on land and water represents duality of the soul. Also included, the frog symbolizes creativity and forward thinking.
